The car is set to make its first UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, with the group showing the limited edition of 1000 units only. Pogea Racing on the other hand have laid out a plan which will ensure the Alfa Romeo 4C gets sportier features and with its engine kicking out more horses.
Let’s set the facts right, a brand new Alfa Romeo 4C will leave the store with a 240 hp direct injected, 1750 turbo petrol engine which is an evolution of the engine already in use in the Quadrifoglio Verde version of the Giulietta. The new ‘4 cylinder’ 1750 Turbo Petrol engine implements an innovative aluminum block and specific intake and exhaust systems.
The Alfa Romeo 4C has yet to arrive in dealerships, but Pogea Racing has already presented the first tune for the mid-engined Italian sports car. The tuning program of the Friedrichshafen-based German company has as highlights an engine upgrade that lifts output to 415 horsepower, an aerodynamic kit that reduces lift and massive 19- and 20-inch wheels.
Pogea also throws in sporty suspension components and interior accessories made of materials such as leather, aluminum and carbon fiber. The aero kit gives the Alfa 4C a more striking appearance thanks to the carbon fiber body parts for the front, side and rear. These elements also help reduce the lift forces, thus increasing high-speed driving stability.
The addition of these parts makes sense, as Pogea Racing plans to significantly boost the power of the four-cylinder engine from 240 horsepower to around 415 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
"To achieve this, various engine modifications are necessary: new turbochargers, tubular exhaust manifold and an exhaust system with valve control will replace the serial components. In addition, we optimise the fuel supply and the cooling system," explains company founder Eduard Pogea.
Pogea Racing also offers 19- and 20-inch XCUT rims developed with KW Automotive plus DCC and Clubsport suspension kits that promise to make driving dynamics even sportier. For those who want their Alfa Romeo 4C to be really exclusive, the aftermarket company offers everything from customized floor mats to complete leather interiors.
Alfa Romeo is counting on the new 4C sports car as it’s major cash cow especially in making a remarkable comeback into the US market. With that said, one of the major opportunists that emerge alongside new cars are the tuners. Based in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Pogea Racing are the first to show interest in the new Alfa Romeo 4C.

The tuning package from Pogeo Racing will see the car get sportier 19 and 20 inch alloy wheels, alongside a sport suspension. Interior upholstery will feature leather detailing while carbon fiber will enhance the lightweight theme, remember a stock Alfa Romeo 4C weighs only 895 kg, a tuning program will always take that into consideration.
New parts will include the stated full carbon fiber parts in the front, side and rear including those meant for enhancing downforce. They expect a power increase of up to 415 hp and 450 Nm of torque. That’s impressive considering the stock output is rated at 240 hp. To do this, they will add new turbochargers, tubular exhaust manifold and an exhaust system with valve control.
The car will also receive Pogea Racing XCut wheels in 19 and 20 inch dimensions while the suspension will feature KW Automotive, DCC and Clubsport kits.
Since 1997, POGEA RACING has been developing and manufacturing
products to customise sports cars. Therefore it only makes sense that
the technicians of the company in Friedrichshafen, Germany are busy
developing a comprehensive TÜV-tested tuning programme for the 4C, the
latest racer from the Alfa family. The goal: powerful performance
enhancements, lift-reducing aerodynamic components and striking 19- and
20-inch alloy wheels. Sporty suspension components and noble interior
modifications made of leather, aluminium and carbon fibre will complete
the portfolio. The POGEA aerodynamic kit in the lifestyle design is strikingly
sporty: the 100% carbon fibre body parts for the front, side and rear
not only add visual appeal to the Alfa 4C—they also simultaneously
reduce the lift forces which will increase the driving stability,
especially at high speeds. Their addition makes sense, given the
tremendous increase in power gained by POGEA’s performance enhancements.“As a result of our experience with an identical engine, we
expect a power increase to around 415 hp and 450 Nm of torque,” predicts
Eduard Pogea, founder and mastermind at POGEA RACING, adding: “To
achieve this, various engine modifications are necessary: new
turbochargers, tubular exhaust manifold and an exhaust system with valve
control will replace the serial components. In addition, we optimise
the fuel supply and the cooling system. It is a well-tuned optimised
engine management.” Anyone at the wheel of a 4C will enjoy the throaty
sound and clearly sensing the car’s agility.Specifically tailored to the needs of turbo-charged Alfa Romeo,
POGEA RACING is making its XCUT rim in 19- and 20-inch special editions.
Developed in cooperation with KW Automotive, DCC and Clubsport
suspension kits will make the driving dynamics even sportier. In addition to the existing, serial interior, POGEA is planning
accessories made from aluminium, carbon fibre or leather. Anything the
Alfa Romeo 4C driver wants can be requested—from personalised floor mats
to complete leather interiors. POGEA RACING GmbH is a company that focuses on
fine craftsmanship of vehicle enhancements. In addition to developing
chip tuning on a Dynojet all-wheel dynamometer for all current vehicle
models, and the restoration and modernization of classic cars, POGEA
RACING has a passion for vehicles that are individual and unique as
their owners. POGEA RACING offers custom automotive interiors and
enhancements to optimise performance and aerodynamics
