The Spyker B6 Venator Concept is a compact, 2-door mid-engine sports
car that will offer the discerning driver of the highest standards a
new choice, delivering a rare combination of heritage, design,
performance and exclusivity. The Spyker B6 Venator Concept makes a
defiantly contemporary statement whilst paying homage to its past,
making it instantly recognizable as a Spyker. Highly detailed design,
bespoke materials and aviation-inspired elements are a core part of the
Spyker DNA.
With the announcement of the Spyker B6 Venator Concept, Spyker once
again proves its Latin axiom: “Nulla tenaci invia est via” – “For the
tenacious no road is impassable.” The name “Venator” is Latin as well,
meaning “Hunter” – a nod back to Spyker’s “Hunter” fighter aircraft of
the early 20th century. It is everything a connoisseur would expect from
a high sports luxury car and more, thanks to the design language and
details that could only come from Spyker. A bold beauty is what you will
find in the Spyker B6 Venator Concept.

Aeroplane
cockpitInterior surroundings crafted from the finest materials are unusually open and airy for a sports car, the light and glass akin to an aeroplane cockpit.
Spyker uses the finest leather and aluminium, for authenticity and substance—the use of
plastics is reduced to
almost zero.
IGNITION
SWITCHFlick the red cover on the ignition switch to evoke the spirit of starting an aeroplane. Activate the ignition switch and listen to the reassuring “clack” as the aluminium switch moves into place. Watch the dashboard light up as part of your ‘pre-flight check'. Pressing the engine start/stop button brings to life a powerful V6 engine that delivers 375+ bhp.
GEAR CHANGE
MECHANISMThe trademark exposed gear change mechanism was inspired by early aircraft controls from Spyker’s aviation heritage and provides a sense of occasion and craftsmanship proving that aesthetic and function need not be separated.
DASHBOARD
Spyker believes in using authentic materials of true quality and substance for any area you can see or touch. Plastic is deliberately avoided to ensure the highest possible use of ‘pure’ materials.
TURNED
ALUMINIUM
FASCIA
As a unique Spyker feature, you can opt to have a turned aluminium fascia. Seen on planes in the 1920s and 30s, the original effect was achieved by hand, ‘turning’ metallic ‘dust’ or fine shavings into the dashboard with a cor
DIALS &
SWITCHESThe standard dials can be upgraded to milled dials, bezels and switches for an even higher level of tactility and the benefit of knowing that the skills employed in exquisite watch making are being applied to your automobile.
ROYAL
LEATHER TRIMThe leather is sourced from the Litano range produced by the Royal Hulshof Dutch Tanneries. Hulshof use only West European first choice bull hides and the special ‘tanning’ process produces the beautifully rich colour palette and a silky feel with irresistible super-soft, warm touch.
PERSONALISATION
Spyker’s trademark diamond stitched quilted finish is available as an option, as is contrast stitching, and an Alcantara® interior. Customers looking for the ultimate in personalisation will be provided with design proposals to help make an informed choice.
When Spyker showed its B6 Venator concept at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, it was easy to write off the shapely coupe as just another design exercise from a company struggling to find its niche (and even stay afloat in a changing market). The response to the B6 Venator, however, was overwhelmingly positive, leading the Dutch sports car brand to quickly confirm production and roll out the open-top B6 Venator Spyder concept at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance just a few months later.
Despite a number of headwinds, including recovering from a failed attempt to rejuvenate Saab, Spyker remains adamant it will be able to start B6 Venator production before the year is out. Today, we have our first look at a production-spec version of the car, which we’re glad to report looks almost identical to the stunning concept version.

Today, we have our first look at a production-spec version of the car, which we’re glad to report looks almost identical to the stunning concept version.
We say almost identical because there are a few changes, likely developed during testing of prototype versions. For example, the fog light surrounds have been toned down and new vents added to the hood. The rear diffuser is also not as aggressive as on the concept, and it appears the fighter jet afterburner-inspired tail-lights don’t extend out as far. The production version also sports indicators and reflectors.
Like the concept, the production version will sit on a lightweight aluminum chassis (of unknown origin). Power will come from a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V-6 delivering at least 375 horsepower, and drive will be sent to the rear wheels only via a six-speed automatic transmission. Inside, you’ll find Spyker’s signature design elements such as a machine-turned aluminum dash, quilted leather trim, and an exposed gearshift mechanism that runs the length of the cabin.
Deliveries of the new B6 Venator are scheduled to commence spring 2015. Pricing is yet to be announced but Spyker has previously said the cars will cost between $125,000 and $150,000. If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of the first examples, you can reserve one via a unique bond program where each of 100 planned Spyker Venator Bonds issued will come with a chassis number.
